Returning, with an Un-Schedule

I had to take a break.  Its been a very weird and hard winter this year and rather than give crappy streams, I just walked away for a bit.  I re-evaluated my strategy and my schedule.  See, I'm going to admit something that I may have joked about in the past but its really something I struggle with.  I have Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD).  What that means for me is that novelty is key when I do anything.  As in, if its not new and interesting to me, I usually don't stick with it.  The fact that I've been streaming steadily, for the most part, since May 2017 is really quite miraculous.  The fact that I've been streaming Star Wars: The Old Republic almost exclusively since that time is a testament to how much I like that game.

But like a lot of people with ADD, burn-out is quite common.  So going back to the re-evaluation of the way I run my stream, I have come up with two solutions.  

First, I'm going to cut back on my hours even further to three days a week.  My goal is to make each stream a solid four hour block so that having less days during the week makes it worth it for you to have time to watch and enjoy yourselves!  

Second, I'm going hard core, folks.  Hard core variety!  With one exception I'll mention later, I'll basically be playing and streaming what I want!  I'll be the veritable box of chocolates - you'll never know if you're gonna get SWTOR, Hearthstone, Elder Scrolls Online, or Warframe, just to name a few.  I promise it will never be boring.  I love gaming and I'm still my dorky self.

I have a few other fun things planned for the future, including parties (see below for information on St. Patrick's Day!) and concurrent gaming/writing project that some of you may find intriguing.

Right now the new weekly schedule will be Saturdays at 2pm MST, Sundays streaming for GirlStreamers playing Star Wars: The Old Republic exclusively at 8pm - 10pm MST, and Mondays at 8pm MST.  I reserve the right to surprise everyone with an extra stream or two besides these set points but these times/dates seem to fit the best with my family's schedule.  So watch out for my return this Saturday, Feb. 24 at 2pm MST.  Always check my Twitter for the most update to date streaming information! The future is bright.  Even though one foot of snow was dumped on us in less than 72 hours, spring is on its way and my one year anniversary of streaming looms closer!

Scrappywheelz, the Return

I slept.  I ate 50% off Christmas candy.  I celebrated the new year playing House on Haunted Hill with friends, not getting drunk or getting hit by a drunk driver.  And my Christmas tree is still up.  And no plans right now to bring it down because the kids are back in school and I'm enjoying the silence.

So back to business for 2018.  This is going to be a good year!  I'm going to hit 200 followers - I only have 21 more to go, y'all!  I've expanded my gameplay experience by throwing out World of Warcraft, and bringing in Warframe that I can play with Cmdr_blackhorse.  I will continue to stream delicious Star Wars: The Old Republic gameplay for both myself and for GirlStreamers.

About the schedule - this should be the finalized one for now (always subject to change of course!):

Revan!  What more can I say about this enigmatic force-user other than he is fascinating?  Now don't get all excited.  I have not read one word of any other EU Star Wars books on him (don't worry I have had friends chastise me on this already).  I didn't even know he was a thing until I started playing my first warrior in Star Wars: The Old Republic.  But ever since I played that first questline in Dromand Kaas (now located at The Wall), the duality of his nature, his seeming inability to assimilate both his light and dark sides has intrigued me.  Because let's be honest.  Who hasn't warred with aspects of their own nature in their way?  Who hasn't discovered that one decision changed the whole direction of your entire future, for good or for bad?

So for the next few play dates, I'll be focusing on playing out the entire Revan storyline that should take me from Mask of Revan on Dromand Kaas to Call to Arms for Boarding Party and The Foundry to Shadow of Revan on Rishi andYavin 4.  It should be a fun ride!

The best of birthdays

As a typical middle child, I don't expect much from my birthday.  Usually its me and the husband going out to eat somewhere nice and being without the kids for a couple of hours.  Maybe I might get to sleep in, depending on the day of the week it falls.  This year though I had a goal.  Something to look forward to on what would normally be a fairly usual day.  I already had over 50 followers and I thought, "Wouldn't it be nice to have 100 followers for my birthday?"  A fun goal with prizes at the end for those that helped me achieve it.  My expectations were met and then some!

In the weeks that followed, I not only hit my goal of 100 followers before my birthday, but two days before it, I recieved my Affliation invite!  What a fabulous way to start my several years worth of 29th birthdays!

Emoticon Plans

I honestly didn't think I'd love streaming as much as I do.  Its been a challenge and very rewarding for me.  My first big goal since I started streaming was to be affliatied with Twitch.  Not because I expected wealth and riches right off the bat.  More like the possibility of making money while doing something I love, I think, is pretty much what everyone hopes for.

With that in mind, I started thinking about the different ways I would like to reward my viewers for supporting me.  The first thing I wanted to do was have a whole series of cute emoticons.  But I wasn't sure what I wanted to do thematically.

Enter my daughter.

She's twelve and a natural artist, just like her dad.  She loves chibi and anime.  And when I told her about my emoticons, she wanted to try her hand at making one.  The result was this:

Off the fly.  No instructions.  And it was perfect.  I didn't plan on doing animals or cats for that matter but her 'scared' emoticon was just too freaking cute for words.  I was sold and I told her that if she would do more emoticons I would make sure she was compensated accordingly.  I can handle Animal Jam credits as a commission any day of the week for such a talented artist.

So in the coming weeks as I work my way towards affliation and as I work to color and size the emotions for approval, I'll make sure to share one or two just to give you a taste of what is available to my viewers and subscribers!

I'm so excited!  I just wanted to let you know how excited I am!  100 followers a full week before my birthday.  I pledge to keep my streams coming and I always try to improve upon what I've done before!  I hope eventually to be offered an affliation and to be able to offer subscriptions and fun perks for those subscriptions.  I've got lots of plans for the future, but I really couldn't have made it anywhere without my followers and my regular viewers.  You guys are truly amazing and I'm grateful for all the support  you give me!

Change in Schedule

So you know how they say "Too many eggs in the same basket, some are liable to break."  Well, that's  how I felt ever since I added the Creative stream.  Just too much to keep track of, and too unassociated with what I do stream during the week.  It was a nice idea but I found quickly not great in execution.

So my new schedule looks like as follows:

Monday  - Marital Felicity Monay - WoW - afternoons and evenings
Tuesday - SWTOR - 9 - 12pm

Thursday - Day Off

NOTICE! -- Streaming Schedule Redo

As many people do, I was chagrined to discover that I am subject to data limits on my internet.  Talk about an elbow to the gut.  So because of this, I'm forced to redo my very robust schedule and pare back a little.

As of Aug. 6th, my new schedule will be:

• Sunday - Creative Stream 1pm-3pm, SWTOR evenings
• Monday - Marital Felicity Mondays - WoW 9pm-12pm
